Today Samsung is introducing the SMART TV Stare Battle. The new interactive game challenges players to stare at the new SMART TV for as long as possible without blinking. During the game, players will take on internet sensation Keenan Cahill, who has recorded a new lip-synch video to De La Soul’s number ‘Me, Myself and I’ without blinking once, especially for the Stare Battle. He will be doing his best to distract players during the game. Every week the player with the longest stare time will be rewarded with a SMART TV prize package. The campaign will introduce users to the entire range of SMART TV features, which includes Smart Hub, Video on Demand and social media. 

Stare Battle
The new interactive game is played using a specially designed YouTube channel (“branded” channel). An innovative eye-tracking device will register eyelid movements on the webcam. Keenan Cahill provides tips on the channel about how to improve your staring, such as putting cucumber slices on your eyes or practising with a fan. However, during the game Keenan will be the opponent. He will distract users while they are staring by using tactics such as calling them on Skype, showing YouTube videos, or showcasing other SMART TV features. The entire game is designed to make things as difficult as possible, forcing players to blink. Every week the player with the longest stare time will be rewarded with a Samsung prize package, which includes the Samsung Smart TV D8000.

Keenan Cahill
Keenan Cahill is best known for his lip-synching performances on YouTube to hits by 50 Cent, Katy Perry and David Guetta. The teenager's striking appearance and his entertaining videos have resulted in over two hundred million views. Samsung has discovered that the teenager has another talent: he hardly blinks at all in his lip-synch videos. Samsung has invited him to use this talent as a host for the SMART TV Stare Battle. Keenan has recorded a new lip-synch video to De La Soul's number 'Me, Myself and I', without blinking once, especially for Samsung. This is the first time that the YouTube sensation is active in the Benelux.
